Chatterley Whitfield is an industrial time capsule and is widely acknowledged to be the most comprehensive surviving example of a deep mine site in England. It is Britain’s biggest remaining colliery site, which has been designated by Historic England as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
Our Heritage Centre, Remembrance Garden and Artefacts Building is now open every Thursday and Saturday morning. Site tours are the second Saturday of most months. Check out our Facebook Page for updates.
